Hello Everyone today i am going to share the manufacturing process of a LPG gas cylinder step by step
After Cutting the Blank of desired size the blanks are shifted to a double acting hydraulic press. as seen below

1.Cutting of blank
2.Deep draw
3.Joggling
4.Punching
5.Welding of valve
ØAssembly
1.Fitment of part in Fixture
2.Welding of parts in Welding SPM
ØTesting
1.Leakage Test
2.Hydraulic Test
3.Burst Test
4.SST Test
So starting from Phase -1 i.e manufacturing of End covers first of all blanking is done by a blank cutter to a defined size

After deep Drawing operation we do trimming of the ends then we create a joggle so that both can be fixed properly
After That Piercing of shell to be done so that we can fit valve to it
After piercing welding of valve port to be done
Now it's turn of doing assembly of child parts
As we have provided joggle in one part which helped us in fitment during assembling time
Welding of both shell by SPM
(NOTE: the welding M/c has protective cover and never done in open the snap here is instant click before closing of welding SPM door)
After that the welding of cylinder holder to be done
Then we apply Zinc coating to cylinders to avoid them from rust
Then we perform a series of test as their severity is very high
1,Hydraullic Leak test
Water is filled to cylinder with very high pressure
After getting successfully passed on hydraulic test water is removed from it through water removing m/c
then after the another gas leakage test is done by filling air high pressure (More then inside filled cylinder)
and dipping in water
After completion of leakage test internal cleaning of cylinder is done
And our LPG Cylinder is ready for dispatch
A burst test is also performed once in 6 months to calculate the pressure up-to which the cylinder can sustain
It is generally performed with the help of liquid rather then with the help of gas as gas may be very dangerous to perform this process
