AIAG was established in 1982 by Chrysler, Ford & General Motors. AIAG is a not-for-profit association where professionals from a diverse group of stakeholders – including retailers, suppliers of all sizes, automakers, manufacturers, service providers, academia, and government – work collaboratively to streamline industry processes via global standards development & harmonized business practices.
In starting the the standard was followed by the vendors of these three north american OEM ( Chrysler, Ford & General Motors) which later on adopted world wide by the automotive manufacturers to improve quality to the products . by doing APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning ).
The Objective of AIAG is to publish the Standards and offering educational conferences and training.
